Local councillors have welcomed news that the programme of evening closures planned for the Northern Line has been cancelled.

Local West Hill Councillor Nick Cuff took part in the third annual Roehampton 10K Fun Run on Saturday 5th June.

The minister cometh

James Brokenshire, the minister for crime prevention, visited Wandsworth today as part of Neighbourhood Watch week to see one of our training sessions in action.

The votes are in and counted and across the board the results of the 2010 local and national elections have been very encouraging for Wandsworth Conservatives.

Nightingale Conservatives encourage residents to join them in opposing plans for a bigger mast on Nightingale Lane.

Better roads in Roehampton

Roehampton Conservatives are pleased to report continuing progress in the number of potholes filled Roehampton and Putney Heath.

After lobbying the Council since June 2008, the Furzedown Conservative Action team have been informed that, subject to a final assessment, North Drive will get a much needed pedestrian crossing. A final “pedestrian and vehicular survey” is being undertaken this month.

The roads have been a big issue recently. There's no getting away from it, the two cold snaps earlier this year (along with last year's cold weather) have taken their toll.

Over 100 residents are backing a campaign to get more investment in Beaumont Road Shopping Parade following a petition launched by West Hill Conservative Councillors. The Council’s Housing Department have now visited the site and are due to come back with ideas for how to regenerate the Parade.

As a local parent, I know how much children love playing outdoors and we have such a wonderful resource with our Commons and green spaces in Wandsworth. So I am delighted that the Council is investing in a new 'natural-style' children's play area on Tooting Common.

Shaftesbury Park Estate 20mph zone

Transport for London have finally started working on the entry treatments to the Shaftesbury Park Estate that will make it a 20mph zone.

Resurfacing and pot holes in Furzedown

Furzedown will soon be benefiting from a thorough inspection and repair and three new roads.

As part of the Council’s innovative Hidden Homes initiative, a disused clinic on the Ashburton Etate has been granted planning permission to be converted into five 2 and 3 bed apartments.
