Bedford ward councillors have welcomed Wandsworth Council’s decision to develop a new policy regarding 20 mph speed limits on residential roads.

Wandsworth's campaign against potholes and pavement defects has seen more than 1,000 potholes fixed since Wandsworth’s repair teams took to the streets last month to begin a huge road improvement project.

Work on the next phase of the £3m Clapham Junction exemplar scheme starts in May 2013. 

Children’s playground proves a big hit

The Council’s investment in the Tooting Triangle playground is proving popular with local families. Children had a key role in choosing the play equipment and designing the space. Local councillors also lobbied to prevent mobile phone companies installing a mast nearby.

Businesses in the Northcote Road area were today being handed the results of the first local Consumer Survey in recent years carried out by local MP Jane Ellison and the Northcote Ward Councillors.

Improvements underway at ARK Putney Academy

Local Conservative councillors are delighted that Balham Town Centre Partnership has secured £1.9million to encourage people to explore, enjoy and invest in Balham town centre. The investment comes from the Mayor’s Outer London Fund with matching funding from Wandsworth Council.

Following years of pressure from local Conservative councillors and Putney MP Justine Greening, work has finally started on the upgrade of Putney mainline station.

The first River Taxi opening the new service from Putney to Blackfriars departed from Putney at 6.30am on Tuesday 2nd April. One of the earliest travellers on the Thames Clipper was Richard Tracey, the Mayor's Ambassador for River Transport and London Assembly Member for Wandsworth and Merton.

Wandsworth Council is taking action to help residents improve recycling rates.

A long-running campaign by your local Conservative councillors has successfully resulted in the extension of the Waterloo-bound platform at Wandsworth Town station.

Member of Parliament for Battersea, Jane Ellison, and London Assembly Member for Merton and Wandsworth, Richard Tracey, today joined local Conservative councillors to celebrate Clapham Junction station’s 150th anniversary.
