Local business woman and St Mary's Park ward Councillor Melanie Hampton has successfully nominated the Battersea Summer Scheme for Aviva Insurances 'Broker Community Fund' Award, which has given £10,000 to support the schemes work with local young people.
Building is underway at 181-207 Tooting High Street. Replacing the car showrooms and Carpet Right, the mixed use redevelopment comprises flats and non-residential units including offices, shops, restaurants and a doctor's surgery.
Building works are nearing completion at the former Bolingbroke Hospital site. A state funded secondary school, the Bolingbroke Academy, opened there in autumn 2012 under the Conservative's 'free schools' programme and a new health centre will open later this year.
